The Role:
We are seeking a Global Compliance Specialist to lead and manage our organization’s compliance strategy and certification initiatives. This role is crucial to ensure adherence to international and regional standards, and to help expand our credibility in the global education and EdTech landscape.
Responsibilities:
Lead, implement, and maintain compliance for:
- ISO 27001:2022 (Information Security Management)
- SOC 2 (Security, Availability, Confidentiality, etc.)
- ISO 17024 (Personnel Certification)
- DIGCOMP and other EU frameworks for IT certification, cybersecurity and digital literacy
- UK OFQUAL or an equivalent regulatory framework (assessment, relevance evaluation)
- Ensure policies, documentation, procedures, and internal practices align with compliance frameworks
- Support and manage application, audit, and renewal processes for each relevant certification/accreditation
- Identify and recommend emerging or alternative global standards relevant to EdTech, learning, and IT certification
- Assist in preparing and submitting proposals or bids for EU-funded education and digital literacy projects (optional but a strong plus)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, learning, and tech teams to ensure alignment with compliance and certification standards
- Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and certification entities
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in managing compliance for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and/or ISO 17024
- Strong understanding of EU and UK educational and digital literacy frameworks (DIGCOMP, OFQUAL, etc.)
- Experience in EdTech, certification, or education-related organizations is a huge plus
- Familiarity with EU project bidding and grant writing is a strong advantage
- Excellent project management and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a remote startup environment
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); other European languages are a plus
