Quantifiable credentials, smart adoption of technology and the validation promise.
Knowledge Pillars develops task-based live-in-the app certification exams for some of the fastest-growing major programming languages, application frameworks and content management systems that help professionals quickly find jobs in Big Data, Development, AI, Robotics and Cybersecurity roles.
The Smart Adoption of Technology to Validate Skills
The underlying technology of the products developed by Knowledge Pillars comprises a cloud-based system that only requires a standard web browser to allow a user to take a certification exam. The system integrates a Remote Proctoring Service (RPS), so the test taker can take the exam from any location with the assurance that proper testing conditions are maintained.
The system also integrates Live-in-the-App (LITA) technology, which allows us to include live code requirements to pass an exam. A coding problem is presented, and the user must type in working code to solve the problem. Each exam type has its own runtime environment, so Python code is written for the Python exam, and WordPress settings on a running WordPress dashboard are entered for that exam.
The LITA technology gives hiring managers the assurance that when a candidate earns one of the Knowledge Pillars’ certification credentials that they have the skills needed to do the job. The credential proves that the candidate was able to apply practical knowledge related to a specific skill set, verified through live coding challenges which outperform the regular static “pattern-based” Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) exams available in the market today, they know more than just which facts to choose from a multiple-choice selection, but can apply the concepts to practical situations verified through live coding challenges.
“In terms of capacity, one of our main objectives is to provide solutions for roughly 100,000 K-12 students in Florida. Our cloud-based system enables us to do just that” Alessandro Macri’, CEO at Knowledge Pillars
Our Validation Promise to Students

Did you know: Studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between earning certifications and seeing improved grade point averages.
Knowledge Pillars’ solutions help businesses manage the deluge of applicants by providing quantifiable credentials to demonstrate a candidate’s aptitude for a position. This value keeps the acquisition of certification in high demand.
How We Support Organizations
For organizations, Knowledge Pillars offers manageability of the often-unwieldy certification process. As specialists in the field with over thirty years of combined experience in EdTech, we can offer unmatched expertise in large-scale solutions for institutional testing programs. Companies recognize the benefit of using a vendor like Knowledge Pillars instead of trying to cultivate the relationships and skills required to offer certifications in-house. This prevents the assessment process from becoming a distraction to the client organization’s primary lines of business. Further, certifications, especially those for entry-level employees in software and IT positions, help companies close the skills gap between the abilities of incoming workers and the knowledge level needed to deliver on organizational goals.
Remote Proctoring Services
Our Remote Proctoring Service is performed through our partner Examus, a leading AI proctoring and user behavior analysis organization. This service adds convenience for test-takers and allows them to take their exams in the comfort and safety of their homes, an important consideration during these times of pandemic restrictions. The RPS also ensures that the candidate cannot cheat or use more time than allotted for the test.
What is a remote proctoring service?
Remote proctoring is a service that emulates the role of an on-site proctor – confirming the identity of the test-taker and safeguarding the integrity of the exam – using an internet-delivered or phone-delivered assessment monitored by our offsite proctor.
How does remote proctoring work?
Remote proctoring enables students to write an exam in a remote location while maintaining the exam’s integrity. A proctoring software confirms a student’s identity and monitors him/her through a webcam. The video recorded during a remote proctored exam helps to flag any suspicious activity or behavior.
What are the types of proctoring?
- Automatics proctoring: Examus AI online proctoring independently verifies identity, monitors their behaviour and gaze direction, analyzes sounds in the room, captures violations on video and prepares reports.
- Asynchronous proctoring: Proctoring video post review mode – allows you to confirm/deny automatic notifications of the system about recorded violations. The proctor prepares the final report.
- Real-time proctoring: Proctors monitor students through the online proctoring platform “Examus”. Automatics signals about violations. Proctor controls the examination process and prepares a final report.
Why is this so important? As a certification provider, Knowledge Pillars ensures that its test-takers can safely and conveniently take the exams in a secure and intuitive environment to ensure optimal results. Taking an exam is stressful as is, the way you take it shouldn’t have to be. That’s why Knowledge Pillars has chosen to offer customers both on-site and online proctoring exam options through its esteemed global EADP partners and Examus.
An Industry Perspective
Employees with proven IT and programming skills are in constant demand. For tech recruiters, HR leaders and hiring managers it can be tough to prioritize the skills to hire in-house (or to source externally). When deciding, it’s worth looking at what’s popular now, what’s likely to become popular in the future, emerging technology and the skills required to meet your business goals.
According to the 2021 CodinGame annual survey of HR professionals and developers, the top 10 in-demand programming languages are currently:
- JavaScript (62% of respondents are on the hunt for candidates with this skill)
- Java (59%)
- Python (48%)
- C# (40%)
- PHP (32%)
- C++ (27%)
- Typescript (24%)
- C (15%)
- Kotlin (15%)
- Swift (14%)
